Within the first couple days one of the eggs got crushed and discarded from the nest leaving 10 under her. Snow ball is a very docile chicken, friendly even. Most broody hens get very mean, but she have been nice the whole time. I give her a little scoop of scratch which she gobbles up. then she jumps off the nest, beats up the other chickens, drinks some water, poops, scratches the dirts and then runs back to the nest. One day she managed a dust bath. Thursday will be interesting, hopefully it will stop raining by then.

Broody Hen
I've been on a break here it seems. I am now unemployed and have had time to do stuff around the house. very nice. In this time Snowball Fluffy the second has gone broody which means she just wants to hatch some eggs rather then lay some eggs. The normal course for this is taking her off the nest as much as possible till she gets on with laying eggs again. OR you can hop on craigslist get 11 fertile eggs for 4 bucks. The chickens they are wyandotte from blue mothers. It's not a true blue more of a bluish gray. It's day 19ish of the 21 day hatching cycle so they should be here in a day or two. I have let the little one know that there is a possibility that no chicks will hatch, good thoughts.
