In to the Abyss

The people that were chosen over me in that job were far less qualified and had far less seniority. I will be letting my boss know today that I have officially selected the Abyss! The most beautiful woman in the world agrees and supports me. I ready for the plunge!

Contemplating the Abyss

One is offered many opportunities in this Universe. Some are quite easy to pick, handed on silver platers. Others are only offered after plunging into the Abyss and being shat out the other side hopefully in a better spot then before. Preferably not so broken and bitter that you do not notice the new and wonderful place you are.

And here we are the Abyss...

I applied for a different position where I am still 'working'. The description was exactly what I do now just made over a little, and less technical. I've been turned down from that one; it really should have been mine. I can't imagine who they might have chosen over me. There is only one other person who is remotely qualified and there were two positions open. One should have been mine. They offered me a large step down in Job duties same pay, same crap, for even longer. What they didn't mention is that being I am the person who knows the technical side, so the people who got the job will constantly be asking me how to do theirs. Knocked down but still doing the same job. Deja fuckin' vu

If I stay, I have a job and 2% wage increase and an intolerable mental anguish.

If I go, I have severance and unemployment and the Abyss of what if.

To stay is easy and torturous

To go is uncertain and possibly ruinous
